Enrollment Eligibility

Residency

 

Enrollment in grades TK-8 is available to families residing in the Mt. Diablo Unified School District (MDUSD) or in an adjacent school district or county. 

 

Any family residing in a school district outside of MDUSD must have an approved Interdistrict Transfer on file (renewed annually).

 

 

MDUSD Entry Requirements

 

Any kindergarten student or a student new to MDUSD must meet all district entry requirements:

• Must turn 5 years old by September 1 for kindergarten 
• Must have current immunizations (proof will be required)
• Must meet physical exam requirement
• Must meet dental exam requirement
• Must have proof of residency

 

Special Education

 

Horizons does not have special education teachers on staff. However, students receiving special education services may enroll in Horizons if their IEP team agrees to the student's change of primary school. Special educational services are coordinated and provided at the student's MDUSD school of residence.
